(Source: CBS) - Alzheimer's has been considered a disease of old age. But more and more doctors are diagnosing what's called "Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease" (EOAD). Those who get the disease are in the prime of life - as young as their 30s.
Jim Mueller's memory problems started two years ago. He was a construction foreman, building high-rises. He began forgetting things - his tools, his time card, his parking space. And one day, he forgot his wife of 14 years. "He looked at me and didn't know who I was," said Michelle Mueller. "I thought he was joking, and he said "who are you?"" A brain scan showed patterns of damage consistent with Alzheimer's disease. Jim was only 36 years old.
